An Interfaith Prayer

Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart
and with all thy soul and with all thy might . . .
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death
I will fear no evil, for thou art with me . . .
May there be revealed to me the holy truth of the Upanishads
OM Shanti Shanti Shanti . . .
Sh'ma Yisrael Adonoi Elohenu Adoni echud . . .
Blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of heaven . . .
Blessed are they that mourn for they shall be comforted . . .
La ilaha illa'llah, Muhammadan rasulu'llah . . .
Praise be to Allah, the Beneficient, the Merciful, Master of the day of Requital . . .
It is the Mother of the Universe, I do not know its name, so I call it, Tao . . .
I take refuge in the Buddha, I take refuge in the Dharma, I take refuge in the Sangha . . .
Grandfather, look at our brokeness; In all creation only the human family
has strayed from the Sacred Way . . .
Though the Infinite One is without color, He colors the whole universe . . .
I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation
where they will not be judged by the color of their skin
but by the content of their character . . .
We all come from the Goddess and to her we shall return
like a drop of rain flowing to the ocean . . .
Nothing real can be threatened, nothing unreal exists, herein lies the peace of god . . .
And now faith, hope and love abide, these three: and the greatest of these is love.
